Barney’s Gourmet Hamburgers

barneys2Although Barney’s is technically a chain restaurant, with ten locations divided between the San Francisco Bay Area and the Los Angeles area, one would think that they were dining in a one-of-kind establishment. Barney’s uses only Niman Ranch beef and all natural free-range chicken, which are delivered daily along with fresh breads. They use no preservatives and make all of their own guacamole, toppings, and dressings in-house. Barney’s offers more than twenty mouth-watering hamburger options, over ten chicken sandwiches, and plenty of vegetarian options. They also serve meal-sized salads if you are looking for lighter fare. As for every good burger joint, they must provide you with a quality french fry; Barney’s stays true to that rule by offering traditional cut fries, sweet potato fries, and exceptional curly fries. When you are done feasting on these quality meats, if you have some room left for a treat, try one of Barney’s milk shakes. They are thick and delicious, (the Oreo Cookie is incredible).

There are many more things to say about Barney’s Gourmet Hamburgers, such as the fact that they offer a tropical-like outdoor seating area with enough room in places to park your bike, an interesting variety of beers, good kid’s menu (the chicken strips are very tasty), as well as a friendly staff and environment which has won them many awards and numerous write-ups. The last time we ate there, Christopher had the bacon BBQ burger and mentioned that it was almost a shame to put the BBQ sauce on the burger because he was so pleasantly surprised by the thick, delicious quality cuts of bacon… but he elected to use the sauce and was not disappointed one bit. I had the beet salad and was elated by the hearty chunks of beets and generous portions of delicious caramelized walnuts and goat cheese… delicious.

So in reality, there is only one thing to say about Barney’s Gourmet Hamburgers – If you have the craving… Barney’s will feed it!
